Situated in the Andaman Sea, having only opened up in the late 90's, Mergui Archipelago has 800 islands that are sparsely populated by the "Sea Nomads", the Moken People. Isolated from mankind, the Mergui Archipelago has almost pristine conditions and a haven for marine species. Oceanic Manta Rays are common sightings on dive trips. Oher pelagics such as Killer Whales have also been spotted in certain parts of the Archipelago.
